FAQs

Who is Thrive?

Thrive By 5 Louisville is an independent nonprofit working to strengthen early learning across our city. We do not run child care centers, but we will introduce you to directors of centers eager to hire people like you. Thrive builds the systems that help great centers and educators thrive, including workforce pathways, quality supports, and stronger connections for families.

How does this work?

Start by submitting the interest form on this page.

  1. We’ll send you an email to learn about your preferences, location, and work experience.
  2. We introduce you to child care providers with openings that match your interests and preferred location. Child care roles require a standard set of steps, such as background checks, a TB test, and required training and certifications.
  3. You’ll hear from providers to schedule interviews, and they’ll help you stay on track with paperwork and training, and you can earn $1200 while you complete training.

How long does the training take?

Onboarding and training are very dependent on your needs! Your employer and 4-C will work with your schedule and availability to create a plan that works best for you. Things that might impact the timing include whether you’re from Louisville or another state, and your schedule to accommodate the training requirements.

Will I have a job at the end?

In most cases, you will interview and receive a job offer before training begins. Once you accept a position, you will complete the required onboarding and training while you prepare to start in the classroom.

Do I need previous experience?

Nope! Your employer will ensure you complete all requirements and training as soon as you’re ready; no prior experience or knowledge is required.
